About Professor Gil Epstein
Gill S. Epstein is a Professor of Economics and the Sir Isaac Wolfson Chair in Economics at the Department of Economics and is currently Dean of The Center for Designated Programs at Bar-Ilan University, Israel.
After completing his doctorate in Economics and Statistics from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 1994, Gil S. Epstein spent two and a half years at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Department of Economics at Bar-Ilan University, Israel Since 1996.
Gil is currently an Associate Editor of the Journal of Population Economics and is an Associate Editor for Economics. In addition, he is a Research Fellow at: IZA (Institute for the Study of Labor, Bonn), CReAM (Centre for Research and Analysis of Migration, London), GLO (Global Labor Organization, Germany), Ld’A (Centro Studi Luca d’Agliano, Milano) and RWI (Leibniz Institute for Economic Research, Germany).
Gil has published in Journals such as European Economic Review, Management Science, Journal of Development Economics, Public Choice, Social Choice and Welfare and Journal of Public Economics.

Gil edited together with Alessandro Cigno a Special Issue on Political Economy and Population Economics, Journal of Population Economics 19(2), 2006.
His current research interests include issues in Political Economy, Public Choice, Labor Economics, Migration and Public Policy.
