Dr. Shira Koren is a member of the senior staff at the EFL (English as a Foreign Language) Unit, Bar Ilan University, Ramat Gan, Israel.
Her research interests include pronunciation acquisition, musicality and pronunciation, attitude to foreign languages, motivation, dictionaries, vocabulary acquisition, note-taking in foreign language and children's literature (fairy tales).
She has a unique collection of parodies and modern rewritings of classical fairy tales and writes articles and gives lectures about this subject.
Dr. Koren is also an author of children's modern fairy tales and parodies of fairy tales. Her books have been published in Israel.
