The Prague Haggadah
1526
The Prague haggadah is one of the most famous illustrated Hebrew books.
It was the first printed illustrated haggadah, and its sixty woodcuts
and Hebrew letters (=fonts) influenced and was imitated.
Here are only few examples of this haggadah.
Bibliography
- The Haggadah of Passover, A Facsimile of the Prague Haggadah / 1526,
Shulsinger Brothers, New York 1964 (with an introduction by Michel and Shmuel Shulsinger).
- The Haggadah of Passover (A Facsimile of the Prague Haggadah 1526.
no place and date of press). Notice the diffrences between these two
"same" Haggadah: 1) the last one's color is more yellow; 2) the former one
is printed on the "wrong" side of the pages. For example, the beginning of the
first facsimile Haggada is on the left side of the page, while the second one
is on the (original) right side, and all the consequative pages are on their
"correct" side of the page.
